On April 24, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the first 16-coach Namo Bharat Rapid Rail service between Jayanagar and Patna, enhancing India’s semi-high-speed rail network. The inauguration took place during the National Panchayati Raj Day event in Madhubani, where Modi also observed a moment of silence for the victims of a recent terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir that resulted in 26 fatalities. This service is the first in India with 16 coaches, responding to high passenger demand, connecting major towns like Madhubani and Darbhanga to Patna. Additionally, Modi flagged off the Amrit Bharat Express between Saharsa and Mumbai and introduced new services between Pipra and Saharsa, as well as Saharsa and Samastipur.
