Hyderabad: Police busted an international online ‘Satta’ betting racket and arrested five persons at Madhura Nagar on Thursday night.
The arrested persons are S Srikanth, G Satish Kumar, Tirupati , Harsha and Vinod, all from Kagaz Nagar in Kumaram Bheem-Asifabad.
Officials stated that, the suspects are close friends and have been organising betting in online mode. They created social media accounts and attracted punters who are habitual in online international gaming and other betting. They collect about Rs.1000 from each punter as registration amount for prediction betting numbers.
Following a tip-off, the police teams raided a rented apartment in Madhura Nagar and nabbed the suspects and seized various gadgets, satta and matka betting printing pamphlets, cash of Rs 1.5 lakh and 18 mobile phones.
