Police Seize Adulterated Dairy Products Worth Rs 18 Lakh in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: Police seized around 3,790 kilograms of adulterated dairy products worth Rs 18.26 lakh during a raid at a dairy unit in Banjara Hills on Wednesday, officials said.

The accused, identified as Mohammed Junaid Hussain (26), was allegedly manufacturing adulterated dairy products including ghee, cow cream and buffalo cream at a unit operating under the name “Pride Dairy” in Bholanagar area of Road No. 12.

According to officials, the accused allegedly mixed palm oil, vanaspati and other low-quality substances with ghee before selling the products as pure dairy items.

During the raid, police seized 460 kg of adulterated ghee, 70 kg of mixed ghee, 2,090 kg of adulterated cow cream and 1,170 kg of adulterated buffalo cream.

Officials also recovered 28 tins of vanaspati, used oil packets, empty tins and several machines used for processing and packaging. Equipment including boilers, a packing machine, weighing machines, gas cylinders and storage containers were also seized from the premises.

Additional DCP of the Commissioner’s Task Force Ande Srinivasa Rao said the adulterated products were allegedly supplied to the public, hotels and event organisers.

A case has been registered against the accused under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita at Masabtank police station. Further investigation is underway.
