On Tuesday, Punjab Kings secured an 18-run victory over Chennai Super Kings (CSK), marking CSK’s fourth straight defeat. Punjab batted first, scoring 238 runs for six wickets in 20 overs. Priyansh Arya starred with a stunning century, hitting 102 runs off 42 balls, supported by Shashanks Singh (52) and Marco Jansen (34). The remaining batsmen struggled to reach double figures.
In response, Chennai managed 201 runs for five wickets. They started strong, with opening batsmen Rachin Ravindra and Devon Conway adding 58 runs quickly in the powerplay. Rachin scored 36 before captain Ruturaj Gaikwad fell cheaply at one run. Conway (69 runs) and Shivam Dube (42 runs) formed a resilient partnership of 89 runs for the third wicket.
Dhoni contributed with 27 runs off 12 balls, but Chennai ultimately fell short. Lockie Ferguson, Yash Thakur, and Glenn Maxwell were key bowlers for Punjab, while Khaleel Ahmed and R. Ashwin shone for Chennai, taking two wickets each.
