Hyderabad : Telangana government declared holiday for Sankranti festival on January 15 and January 16 as an optional holiday for Kanuma festival.
Meanwhile, schools are to reopen the day after the festival holidays. The teacher unions urged the government to extend holidays until January 18 and that schools be reopened on January 19.
However, according to teacher unions, most parents will not send their children immediately after the Sankranti festival.
