29 attacks in 24 hours: Ukraine snatched Lyman from Russia

Kyiv: It’s going to be almost seven and a half months since the Russian attack on Ukraine. After Russia had announced the occupation of many areas of Ukraine, now the Ukrainian army is continuously retaliating. Ukraine has wrested the city of Lyman in the Donsk province from Russia and now the Ukrainian occupation of Donbass is going on again. For this, the Ukrainian army has carried out 29 attacks in the last 24 hours.

According to media reports, there was a scuffle between the Russian and Ukrainian armies over the capture of the city of Lyman in Donetsk province, located in the eastern region of Ukraine. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky declared Lyman to be an important strategic front in eastern Ukraine, declaring Ukraine’s occupation again. With the escape of Russian soldiers from here, it is clear that the hold of the Russian army has been weakened. Here Ukraine is on the winning side. In contrast, Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov claimed that the Russian army had withdrawn from Lyman as part of a strategy.

Soldiers posted here have been sent to other fronts. It is noteworthy that Lyman is part of the same Donsk province, whose merger with Russia was announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin himself. Meanwhile, US Defense Secretary Austin Lloyd has also praised the Ukrainian army for recapturing Lyman. He said the capture of Lyman would help Ukraine advance on the eastern front, as it would no longer require Ukraine to remain on the defensive and openly target Russian targets.

After Lyman, Ukraine is now eyeing the Donbass. The Ukrainian army has said that it will recapture the Donbass by conducting 29 strikes in the last 24 hours. The Ukrainian military said that Russian military weapons stores, anti-aircraft missile systems and command posts were destroyed in Ukraine’s attacks.

Ukraine claimed that there were four missile strikes and 16 airstrikes by Russia. Russia also claimed to have destroyed seven Ukrainian ordnance stores in Kharkiv.
