UP Hospital Horror: Ten Children Tragically Lost in Deadly Fire

Tragedy struck a hospital in Uttar Pradesh on Friday evening as a fire broke out in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) of the Maharani Laxmibai Medical College in Jhansi.

As doctors and medical staff frantically worked to evacuate patients, it was reported that ten children lost their lives in the incident. The casualties are expected to rise, according to an official statement. Preliminary reports suggest that the fire may have been caused by a short circuit. A committee has been formed to probe the cause of the fire. While 44 out of the 54 children admitted in the NICU were rescued, the remaining ten could not be saved.

The deputy chief minister and minister of medical education of Uttar Pradesh have identified seven of the victims. Heartbreaking visuals from the scene showed devastated relatives mourning their loss and charred medical equipment inside the affected ward.

The Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh has expressed his condolences to the families of the victims. This tragic incident serves as a reminder of the need for stricter safety measures in hospitals to prevent such accidents from occurring in the future.
