At least three individuals have died, and three others have sustained injuries following a shooting in Spotsylvania County, Virginia, on Tuesday evening. The Spotsylvania County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO) received reports of the shooting around 5:30 p.m. Upon arrival, deputies discovered several victims outside the scene.
By 7:45 p.m., it was confirmed that three had died, while the injured were transported to nearby hospitals. Major Elizabeth Scott described the incident as severe, emphasizing the distressing situation with six people shot.
Surveillance footage showed two men carrying firearms in the vicinity shortly before the shooting, but authorities are not currently linking them to the incident. Officials have stated that it remains an active investigation, with no suspects in custody. The ages of the victims have not been disclosed yet.
In response to the tragic event, Fredericksburg City Public Schools announced a two-hour delay for Wednesday, acknowledging the significant impact on the school community and requesting understanding as they navigate the aftermath.
