Hyderabad: BRS senior leader and former Minister Koppula Eshwar criticized Congress government for neglecting government residential welfare institutions.

Speaking to the media he said, over 110 students had died in Gurukuls during the Congress government’s 22-month tenure, calling the deaths as “State murders”.

He reminded that under BRS rule, the number of Gurukuls increased to 1,024 schools catering to six lakh students and attracted attention from other States.

Koppula accused the government of GO 17-related corruption, withholding payments to 9,000 contractors for months, and committing a Rs 600 crore scam in the supply of eggs and chicken to Gurukul schools. He also stated that contract staff were not paid salaries for five months.
