In the eighth session of the Delhi Assembly, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta will present the fourth report from the Comptroller and Auditor General of India (CAG) related to vehicular air pollution in Delhi during the budget session on Tuesday. This report focuses on the performance audit for the prevention and mitigation of such pollution for the financial year ending March 31, 2021.
On the first day of the budget session (March 24), she revealed a CAG report concerning the Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC), which disclosed a staggering loss of ₹8,433 crores in 2021-22 compared to a loss of ₹3,411.10 crores in 2015-16, highlighting a significant increase in losses. This marked the third CAG report presented.
Earlier, she had also presented a report on the government’s excise policy, indicating a lack of transparency that resulted in a ₹2,026.91 crores loss. Additionally, the second audit report addressed public health infrastructure, unveiling shortages of essential medical staff and resources in government hospitals, along with major deficiencies in ambulance services.
