Jammu: The Election Commission (ECI) has announced that Assembly polls in Jammu and Kashmir will be conducted in three phases, with elections taking place on September 18, September 25, and October 1, and counting of votes on October 4.
Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar said that the people showed great enthusiasm for the election process. The last Assembly elections were held in November-December 2014, and these will be the first since the abrogation of Article 370 in 2019.
The J&K Assembly has 90 constituencies, with a total of 87.09 lakh voters in the state. Haryana will also go to polls in a single phase on October 1.
