Union Minister for Finance and Corporate Affairs, Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman, arrived in London on Monday evening as part of her official six-day visit to the UK and Austria from April 8 to April 13. She was welcomed by the Indian High Commissioner to the UK, Vikram Doraiswami, at Heathrow Airport.
The visit’s agenda includes an in-conversation session at the Indian High Commission in collaboration with the London School of Economics (LSE) on Tuesday, followed by the 13th Ministerial Dialogue of the India-UK Economic and Financial Dialogue (EFD) with UK Chancellor Rachel Reeves on Wednesday.
The EFD serves as a crucial platform for bilateral engagement on financial cooperation, covering investment, financial services, regulations, taxation, and illicit financial flows. Throughout her tour, Sitharaman will engage with think tanks, investors, and business leaders, with several key agreements and new initiatives expected to be announced.
