Kailash Mansarovar Yatra resume from June 30 via Pithoragarh

Kailash Mansarovar Yatra will restart on June 30 after a five-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic and strained Sino-Indian relations. Organized by the Uttarakhand government and the Ministry of External Affairs, a recent meeting confirmed that the Kumaon Mandal Vikash Nigam will manage the Yatra 2025.

The pilgrimage will initiate from Delhi via the Lipulekh Pass route in Pithoragarh, accommodating 250 pilgrims in five groups of 50. The first group will enter China on July 10, while the last will return on August 22. Each group will depart Delhi, pausing for one night in Tanakpur, one night in Dharchula, two nights in Gunji, and two nights in Nabhidhang before crossing into China (Taklakot). After visiting Kailash, they will return to India, spending one night in Bundi, one night in Chaukori, and one night in Almora before arriving back in Delhi.

Each group’s journey will span a total of 22 days. Health screenings for all pilgrims will be conducted in Delhi and again in Gunji, partnering with the ITBP for thorough evaluations.
