PM Modi lays foundation stone of Madhav Netralaya Premium Centre in Nagpur

PM Modi inaugurated the Madhav Netralaya Premium Centre in Nagpur, Maharashtra, coinciding with Chaitra Shukla Pratipada and the Navratri festival. He highlighted the day’s significance as it marks the birth anniversaries of diverse personalities like Bhagwan Jhulelal, Guru Angad Dev, Dr. K B Hedgewar, and the centenary year of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). At the Smruti Mandir, he paid homage to Dr. Hedgewar and Shri Golwalkar Guruji. The Prime Minister emphasized the celebration of 75 years of the Indian Constitution and the upcoming birth anniversary of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar.

PM Modi recognized Nagpur’s role as a service hub, commending Madhav Netralaya’s mission that embodies spiritual and humanitarian values, serving millions under Pujya Guruji’s ideals. He expressed optimism that the new campus would enhance service initiatives to benefit many lives. Echoing the ‘Sabke Prayas’ ethos from the Red Fort, he detailed advancements in healthcare and noted that Madhav Netralaya aligns with these goals. He emphasized the need for equitable access to quality healthcare for the underprivileged and highlighted the success of initiatives like Ayushman Bharat and Jan Aushadhi Kendras that help make healthcare affordable and accessible.

The Prime Minister also pointed out significant improvements in the medical sector, such as doubling medical colleges and tripling operational AIIMS institutions, which increased medical seats for producing skilled doctors. He mentioned government efforts to teach medical education in native languages and the integration of modern science with traditional practices like yoga and Ayurveda, which contributes to India’s global recognition.

Reflecting on India’s historical resilience against invasions and cultural preservation through social movements, he noted the unifying role of the Bhakti movement led by saints like Guru Nanak Dev and Sant Tukaram, and the contributions of Swami Vivekananda. He acknowledged Dr. Hedgewar and Guruji’s roles in energizing national consciousness during colonial times. As the Madhav Netralaya campus begins its journey, Modi stressed the importance of vision in life, inspired by the Vedic saying “Pashyema Sharadah Shatam,” and recognized Shri Gulabrao Maharaj’s wisdom despite visual impairment, asserting that organizations like the RSS cultivate both external and inner vision.

The Prime Minister highlighted the key message of scriptures regarding the essence of life, rooted in service and altruism. He emphasized that when service becomes fundamental, it transforms into devotion, characteristic of every RSS volunteer. This devotion inspires generations to dedicate themselves to their duties, aligning with Guruji’s teachings of “Dev to Desh” and “Ram to Rashtra.” The Prime Minister acknowledged the significant contributions of volunteers in border areas and tribal education, praising their exemplary service during events like the Prayag Mahakumbh and during disasters, which demonstrate their unwavering commitment.

Referring to an anecdote about Guruji, who compared the Sangh to light, the Prime Minister encouraged individuals to be guiding lights for others amidst challenges. He promoted the collective mindset of “Not I, but you,” which emphasizes prioritizing national concerns over individual interests. He urged the need to move beyond a colonial mentality, noting transformative changes in India’s legal and cultural representation, illustrated by the renaming of Rajpath to Kartavya Path and the updated Navy flag featuring Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Additionally, he recognized the efforts to rename locations in the Andaman Islands to honor India’s independence heroes, fostering a narrative filled with national pride and selflessness.

PM Narendra Modi Modi pointed out the indigenous principle of “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam,” or the world as one family, which resonates on a global scale. He showcased India’s active involvement during the COVID-19 pandemic, particularly in providing vaccines not only for its populace but also in solidarity with the global community. This humanitarian response exemplifies India’s commitment to the welfare of others in times of crisis, reinforcing the ideals of unity and collaboration among nations. Through these endeavors, India seeks to promote inclusiveness, demonstrating its responsibility as a significant global player. By sharing resources and knowledge, India aims to strengthen international ties, fostering a healthier, safer global environment while inspiring other countries to embrace similar principles of unity and compassion in tackling widespread challenges. This philosophy holds significance not only for India’s identity but also in shaping a more interconnected, compassionate world.
