India’s 1st Muslim woman to become a fighter pilot

Mirzapur: The National Defense Academy will welcome its first Muslim trainee pilot on December 27. Sania Mirza, a resident of the Uttar Pradesh village of Jasovar under the Mirzapur Dehat, passed the test on her second attempt to join India’s most prestigious defence training organisation, the NDA. She will be stationed in Pune’s NDA Khadakwasla.

She received her entire education in public institutions. She graduated from Pandit Chintamani Dubey Inter College with a Class 10 diploma. She loved science, but there were no options in my village for her to continue her education. She then pursued her education at Guru Nanak Girls Inter College.

Mirza is another illustration of how girls from small towns and villages who completed their education in public schools can enrol in prestigious institutions and that studying in the Hindi language need not stand in the way of achieving one’s goals.

There were 400 seats available for the National Defence Academy 2022 exam, 19 of which were set aside for female candidates. Only two of these were set aside for fighter pilots, and Mirza was able to occupy one of them.

Mirza has always strived for excellence and as a young child, he dreamed of becoming an engineer. She has excelled academically and on the District UP board. She then began getting ready at Centurion Defence Academy.
