Following the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, the Directors General of Military Operations (DGMO) from India and Pakistan engaged in hotline discussions concerning the ongoing ceasefire violations along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir. India has expressed concerns about unprovoked ceasefire violations by Pakistan. In response to continuous firing from the Pakistani army, the Indian Army countered effectively, particularly during skirmishes in the Tutmari Gali and Ramgarh sectors on the nights of April 26-27 and April 27-28.
Despite the rising tensions, including nighttime firing attempts by the Pakistani army since April 22, the Indian Army responded appropriately to attacks in Kupwara, Poonch, Naushera, Sundarbani, and Akhnoor. Indian officials believe the Pakistani army seeks to escalate tensions and target Indian positions. The hotline discussions following these incidents aimed to address the ceasefire violations.
Eight days after the Pahalgam attack, the Pakistani army vacated several posts on the International Border in the Pargwal area of Kathua, removing flags from those positions. India has warned Pakistan against further unprovoked hostilities along the LoC, emphasizing the importance of maintaining peace amidst rising tensions.
