ASHA workers protest at DME office campus, demands to hike their remuneration

Hyderabad:Several ASHA (Accredited Social Health Activist) workers demanded state government to give hike in remuneration. They demanded to increase their salary up to Rs 18,000, which was a pre-poll promise by the Congress leaders.

A large number of ASHA workers protested in DME office campus at Koti on Monday.

During the protests, the ASHA worker slapped Sultan Bazar Inspector Srinivas Chary.

On witnessing this incident unfold, other senior police officers and women constables, who were present at the spot, overpowered her and forcibly took her, along with other ASHA workers, in the police van to a nearby police station.
