Dawoodi Bohra Community Praises PM Modi’s Landmark Waqf Amendment Act 2025

On Thursday, a delegation from the Dawoodi Bohra community met Prime Minister Narendra Modi to express gratitude for the Waqf Amendment Act, a long-standing demand fulfilled. Community leaders voiced their support for PM Modi’s vision of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas’ and expressed optimism that the reforms in the Waqf law will benefit the Muslim community overall. Their support is notable amidst concerns from other Muslim groups about the potential infringement of their religious rights due to the new legislation.

Union Minister for Minority Affairs, Kiren Rijiju, was also present at the meeting and shared pictures on social media. The Dawoodi Bohras, part of the Shia Ismaili branch of Islam, have a substantial presence in India and worldwide and previously sought exemption from the Waqf Bill.
