India Bans 16 YouTube Channels from Pakistan

India has banned 16 Pakistani YouTube channels, with a combined 63 million subscribers, for promoting inflammatory content after the Pahalgam terrorist attack.

The ban, advised by the Ministry of Home Affairs, includes prominent news outlets like Dawn and ARY News, as well as journalists such as Irshad Bhatti and Asma Shirazi.

The Indian government cautioned the BBC over a headline referring to the attacker as a militant. These channels are accused of spreading false and misleading information against India and its military amid heightened tensions following the Pahalgam attack that resulted in the deaths of 25 tourists and a local Kashmiri.
