IPL 2025: CSK faces third consecutive loss; DC remains unbeaten

The 17th match of the IPL 2025 season took place on Saturday at Chennai’s M.A Chidambaram Stadium, where Delhi Capitals (DC) triumphed over Chennai Super Kings (CSK) by 25 runs. Delhi, batting first, scored 183 runs for six wickets in 20 overs. CSK struggled in their chase, managing only 158 runs, losing five wickets in the same number of overs. This victory marked Delhi’s third consecutive win, placing them at the top of the points table with six points from three matches. In contrast, CSK fell to eighth place with three losses and one win out of four matches.

CSK had a disastrous start, losing three wickets during the powerplay. Rachin Ravindra, Ruturaj Gaikwad, and Devon Conway scored only three, five, and thirteen runs, respectively. Shivam Dube, as an impact substitute, added 18 runs from 15 balls, but his contribution wasn’t enough. Ravindra Jadeja was dismissed for just 2 runs. MS Dhoni entered the fray with Vijay Shankar, who fought valiantly to guide the team, scoring an unbeaten 69 runs off 54 balls, while Dhoni supported with 30 runs from 26 balls. Vipraj Nigam took two wickets for Delhi, and other bowlers contributed one each. Delhi’s top scorer was KL Rahul with 77 runs off 51 balls.
