IPL 2025: KKR’s spinners Narine and Chakravarthy led a comeback, defeating DC by 14 runs

Kolkata Knight Riders continued to demonstrate their spin prowess, defeating Delhi Capitals by 14 runs in IPL 2025’s 48th match. Kolkata batted first after losing the toss, scoring 204 runs for 9 wickets in 20 overs, led by contributions from Rahmanullah Gurbaz (26), Sunil Narine (27), Ajinkya Rahane (26), Angkrish Raghuvanshi (44 off 32), and Rinku Singh (36). Andre Russell added a quick 17 runs to push the score past 200.

Delhi struggled in their chase, losing their first wicket for just 4 runs. Faf du Plessis was the standout with 62 runs off 45 balls but lacked support, with Axar Patel scoring 43 and Vipraj Nigam 38. Delhi’s innings ended at 190 runs in 49.2 overs, crumbling under Kolkata’s spin attack.

For Kolkata, Sunil Narine took 3 wickets, Varun Chakravarthy claimed 2, while Anukul Roy, Vaibhav Arora, and Andre Russell each added one. This victory bolstered Kolkata’s position in the points table, hampering Delhi’s playoff chances.
