During the Superbet Rapid and Blitz tournament of the Grand Chess Tour 2025 in Poland, Russian Grandmaster Vladimir Fedoseev exhibited exceptional skill on the first day of the blitz segment, maintaining his lead.
Fedoseev remained unbeaten, winning all nine blitz rounds and amassing 19 points, further solidifying his status as the current European Champion in both rapid and Chess960 formats.
Indian Grandmaster R. Praggnanandha achieved mixed results, recording four wins but losing three matches. Despite this, he climbed to second place overall, with hopes of narrowing the gap on Fedoseev in the upcoming rounds.
On the other hand, Arvind Chithambaram struggled, winning only two matches and suffering four defeats, placing him in joint third alongside Maxim Vachier-Lagrave and Levon Aronian due to his strong performance in the rapid section.
The tournament, featuring a 5+2 time control for blitz games, is taking place at the Museum of the History of Polish Jews in Warsaw, following a single round-robin rapid section.
