Pakistan Army violates ceasefire in Kashmir for sixth consecutive day

On Wednesday, the Pakistan Army violated a ceasefire in Jammu and Kashmir for the sixth day, triggering a prompt response from the Indian Army, which characterized the situation as an “unprovoked small-arms fire.”

The Indian Army reported firing from Pakistani posts across the Line of Control in multiple sectors, continuing since April 24. This escalation follows a deadly terrorist attack on April 22 in Pahalgam, resulting in 26 civilian deaths, marking one of the worst attacks since 2008.

In retaliation, India suspended the Indus Waters Treaty, with Prime Minister Modi pledging to aggressively pursue terrorists and their backers.
