Solomon Islands shook by strong earthquake, magnitude 7.0

Honiara (Solomon Islands) : A strong earthquake shook the Malango region of the Solomon Islands. Earthquake tremors were felt across the Solomon Islands on Tuesday morning. The intensity of the earthquake has been measured at 7.0 on the Richter scale. At present, there is no information about any loss of life or property.

Locals say that they felt strong tremors at 7.33 am. The Solomon Islands administration says that more information related to the earthquake is being gathered. The Solomon Islands consists of nine main island groups with over 1000 islands located in the western Pacific Ocean.
