Telangana Budget 2023-24: Rs 2.90 lakh crore budget presented in the assembly

New Delhi / Hyderabad: Telangana Finance Minister T Harish Rao presented an expenditure budget of Rs 2,90,396 crore for the financial year 2023-24 in the Assembly on Monday. The Finance Minister has allocated Rs 17,700 crore for the Dalit Bandhu scheme in the upcoming budget.

Presenting the budget, Finance Minister T Harish Rao proposed an amount of Rs 36,750 crore as a special development fund for Scheduled Castes. In the budget for the financial year 2023-24, an allocation of Rs 12,161 crore has been proposed for the Medical and Health Department. Rao said Rs 2,11,685 crore has been allocated for revenue expenditure and Rs 37,525 crore for capital expenditure in the budget for the financial year 2023-24, which is higher than the budget allocation of Rs 2.56 lakh crore for the previous financial year 2022-23. 34 thousand crores more than that.

Citing data available during the budget speech, Rao told the house that Telangana’s share in the country’s gross domestic product (GDP) has increased to 4.9 per cent in the financial year 2020-21 from 4.1 per cent in the financial year 2014-15. Was. Presenting the budget, Rao said the per capita income of Telangana is expected to increase from Rs 1,12,162 in FY 2013-14 to Rs 3,17,115 in FY 2022-23.

Rs 17,700 crore has been allocated for Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao’s ambitious Dalit Bandhu scheme in the Telangana budget. Under this scheme, financial assistance of Rs 10 lakh per beneficiary is provided. With this, the beneficiary can do the business of his choice.
