Tragic Loss: Indian Students Drown in Australian Paradise

Queensland:  Tragedy struck at Millaa Millaa Falls near Cairns in Queensland, Australia as two Indian students, identified as Chaitanya Mupparaju and Surya Teja Bobba, drowned while swimming. Hailing from Andhra Pradesh and pursuing higher studies in Australia, the students were swimming in the waterfall when one of them struggled in the water.

In an attempt to help his friend, the other student also met the same fate. Despite massive efforts by authorities, the students could not be found immediately and a helicopter was deployed to intensify the search. Ambulance personnel were on standby to provide medical assistance. Another student present at the scene was described as visibly shocked by authorities, but his identity was not revealed.

This unfortunate incident adds to the tally of Indian student deaths in foreign countries, with a total of 403 deaths since 2018 and 35 in Australia alone.

The major reasons for these deaths being natural causes, accidents, and medical conditions. Our thoughts go out to the families and friends of the two students who lost their lives in this tragic accident.
