Hyderabad, 14 February: Hyderabad City Police conducted a cordon and search operation along with a community contact programme within the limits of Balapur Police Station in Shamshabad Zone on Friday.
The operation was supervised by DCP B. Rajesh and ACP DV Pradeep Kumar Reddy and led by Inspector M. Sudhakar. It covered Wadi-E-Saleheen and Shaheen Nagar areas.
More than 300 police personnel participated in the drive, forming multiple search, cut-off and lifting teams, with a holding point established at Paradise Function Hall.
During the operation, nearly 800 houses were searched. Police seized 27 two-wheelers without number plates or with improper number plates, two autos, nine illegal gas cylinders and identified a fry-onion manufacturing unit operating without hygienic standards.
Authorities also checked 17 rowdy sheeters and seven suspect sheet persons.
Police officials said the operation was conducted smoothly to curb criminal activities, enhance public safety and strengthen coordination between police and residents.
