Cabinet Approves Four-Lane Upgrade of NH-167 Corridor

New Delhi/Hyderabad, 14 February: The Union Cabinet has approved the widening of National Highway-167 from Gudebellur to Mahabubnagar into a four-lane highway under the Hyderabad–Panaji Economic Corridor.

The 80.01-kilometre project will be implemented at a cost of ₹3,175.08 crore under the Hybrid Annuity Mode. The project aims to ease congestion, improve freight movement and enhance connectivity across Narayanpet and Mahabubnagar districts.

Officials stated that the highway will link NH-150 and NH-167N while integrating key economic and logistics nodes in the region. The development is expected to reduce logistics costs and support regional economic growth.

The project is estimated to generate around 14.4 lakh person-days of direct employment and 17.9 lakh person-days of indirect employment.

Authorities said the upgrade will improve travel time and create opportunities for businesses and local communities along the corridor.
