Several mosques covered with white Cloth during Ganesh procession in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: To prevent any unpleasant incidents in the Old City, police officers draped structures such as mosques, dargahs, and chillas along the Ganesh procession paths. Mosques and dargahs may be seen wrapped with huge fabric in locations like as Santosh Nagar, Chandrayangutta, Falaknuma, Shahalibanda, Afzal Gunj, Begum Bazar, Nampally, and other districts.

When a festival approaches, the mosques along the procession path are typically protected in a similar manner, with police and mosque committees working closely together. This not only prevents looming problems, but also allows devoted Hindus to openly celebrate the festivities.

It has been a norm established by law enforcement officials to guarantee that no unrest arises from any quarter in order to detract from the celebratory spirit of Ganesh immersion, while also ensuring that other Muslim holy structures are not mistakenly splattered with colours. While the five-time prayers proceed as usual in these mosques, the entire edifice is wrapped in white clothes, which can be seen from afar.

Devout Muslims have traditionally dressed in white on their approach to prayer to avoid getting splattered with colours and to ensure that the site of worship, such as a mosque, stays colourless.
