Oceansat-3 will be launched by ISRO

Sriharikota (Andhra Pradesh): Today, the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) plans to launch Oceansat-3 and eight nano-satellites from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre. These satellites will be launched in conjunction with the PSLV C-54 or EOS-06 missions.

The primary payload of this mission is Oceansat-3, the Oceansat series’ third-generation satellite. Oceansat-2, an Earth Observation Satellite (EOS), was launched into space in 2009. The national space agency is now preparing to launch the third Oceansat-3 EOS, which will monitor and record ocean observations.

Oceansat satellites are earth observation satellites dedicated to oceanographic and atmospheric research. Another feature of this satellite is its ability to forecast marine weather. This will warn the country to prepare for any cyclone in advance. This satellite weighs 960 kg and has a power output of 1,360 watts. Oceansat-3 will be launched into Sun Synchronous Orbit for a five-year mission.
