Bhopal: Municipal employees on strike, services like cleaning and water affected

Bhopal : Corporation workers are on strike in the capital on Monday. The Officer-Employees Joint Sangharsh Morcha has claimed that due to the strike, all services including sanitation, water have come to a standstill. However, three workers’ unions have withdrawn support from the front. In such a situation, the employees are divided into two parts.

It is noteworthy that the employees had taken a tough stand regarding the six-point demands. Four days back, 12 employees’ unions had shown solidarity and laid siege to the corporation office. For the first time hundreds of employees sat on dharna for three hours. The employees had warned that they would go on an indefinite strike from December 12 if their demands were not met. Due to this, services related to common people including water, sanitation, fire will be destroyed. After the warning of the employees, the officers and public representatives met the office bearers of the organization.

United Front president Irfan Altaf and media in-charge Ashok Verma said that all work has been affected by the strike. The workers will be on strike till their complete demands are considered. At the same time, employee leader Anil Shravan says that after the agreement on the demands, All India Safai Mazdoor Trade Union, MP Harijan Kalyan Sangh and Rashtriya Mazdoor Sangh have withdrawn their support from the Morcha. They are not involved in today i.e. Monday’s strike.
