Mizoram elections: 7671 voters will vote

Aizawl, 3 November: Giving details of the preparations for the Mizoram Assembly elections, the Office of the Chief Electoral Officer of Mizoram said that arrangements for home voting have been made for senior citizens (80 years and older) and persons with disabilities (PWD) voters in various districts of the state.
For this, ballot papers (wallet papers) have been sent to a total of 7 thousand 671 voters until 5 p.m. on November 2. Of these, 1,998 votes were cast through home voting, and 5,673 votes were cast through postal ballots.
The objective of this initiative is to ensure that every eligible voter, regardless of their physical condition, can exercise their right to vote. According to these district-wise voting-related details: home voting (0), postal ballot (463), total (463), in Mamit district Home voting (138), postal ballot (461), total (599) in Kolasib district Home voting (875), postal ballot (779), total (1,654) in Aizawl district Saitual District Home Voting (149), Postal Ballot (327), Total (476). Home Voting (109), Postal Ballot (142), Total (251) in Khavjol Home Voting (86), Postal Ballot (426), Total (512) in Champhai district Home Voting (168), Postal Ballot (497), Total (665) in Serchhip Home voting (50), postal ballot (74), total (124) in Hanathiyal district Home voting (189), postal ballot (925), total (1,114) in Lunglei Home Voting (81), Postal Ballot (983), Total (1,064) voters in Langtalai, and Home Voting (153), Postal Ballot (596), Total (749) voters in Siaha district
According to the information, due to variations in the schedule of conducting home voting and postal ballots through convenience centres, the data collected from different districts could not be compiled uniformly. Nevertheless, ensuring maximum turnout through these special arrangements reflects Mizoram’s commitment to inclusive democracy.
