Punjab Govt enforces complete blackout in Gurdaspur from 9 pm to 5 am

A blackout will be enforced in Gurudaspur, Punjab, from 9 PM to 5 AM until further notice, as ordered by the District Commissioner. This measure is due to security concerns given the district’s proximity to the India-Pakistan border, which has seen past terrorist activities.

During the blackout hours, all activities are prohibited, and police will patrol to ensure compliance. However, the order excludes jails and hospitals, where minimal lighting must be used, and external areas should be covered with curtains to prevent any beams of light from being visible outside. This decision follows recent airstrike-related tensions.
