Hyderabad: Schools across Telangana, including government, aided and private institutions, will function for half a day starting March 15, according to a notice issued on Thursday by Director of School Education Dr. E. Naveen Nicolas.
As per the order, all primary, upper primary and high schools will operate from 8:00 am to 12:30 pm until the last working day of the academic year on April 23.
Schools designated as Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examination centres will function from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm only on examination days, while continuing half-day timings on other days.
The department clarified that midday meals will be served at 12:30 pm before students leave for the day. Meanwhile, special classes for students appearing for the Class X SSC Public Examinations (March 2026) will continue as scheduled.
The decision has been taken in view of the rising temperatures across the state to ensure the safety and well-being of students.
