Delhi: The Indian Navy, in a remarkable display of bravery and coordination, has successfully rescued nine crew members from the capsized Comoros-flagged oil tanker, MT Falcon Prestige, off the coast of Oman. With the search and rescue operation still ongoing, the joint efforts of Indian and Omani authorities have resulted in the rescue of eight Indian and one Sri Lankan national, out of a total of 16 crew members on board.
Tragically, one crew member was found dead and his nationality is yet to be determined. Despite challenging weather conditions, the Indian Navy’s INS Teg and P-8I aircraft are continuing to assist in the search efforts. The cause of the accident is still unknown and the Indian embassy in Oman is in constant communication with Omani authorities as the vessel was en route to Yemen’s port of Aden before capsizing.
The successful rescue of nine crew members is a testament to the swift and efficient actions taken by both Indian and Omani assets, while the search for the remaining six crew members continues with unwavering determination.
