Participants gathered from all over the country including America to learn goddess songs

Workshop of songs glorifying the glory of Maa Durga started from Monday. More than 80 participants from many countries including America have joined online in this workshop organized by Folk Culture Research Institute. This workshop will run till September 25 under the direction of music scholar Professor Kamala Srivastava.


Secretary of the institute Sudha Dwivedi told that in this workshop named Durga Stuti, nine songs written by Padmashree Dr. Yogesh Praveen on nine forms of Maa Durga have been included. Kamala Srivastava, a retired professor and senior folk singer from the earlier Bhatkhande Sangeet Mahavidyalaya, has composed it in various ragas and melodies. On the first day of the workshop, the first form of Maa Durga was composed in Kaharva Taal and Raga Yaman, Jayati Jai Jai Shail Putri Jai Uma Himgiri Suta and the second form Brahmacharini was composed in Kaharva Taal and Raga Kedar Jai Jai Adi Kumari Jai Hey Brahmacharini Mata Ka Practice was done.
