Bengaluru: The Bengaluru City Railway Station was filled with tension and chaos as a consignment of three tonnes of meat arrived from Jaipur on Friday night.
The meat, packed in 150 cartons, was the subject of controversy as Puneeth Kerehalli, a former cow vigilante who had previously been jailed on a murder charge, claimed it was dog meat.
However, meat dealer Abdul Razzaq, who had legally ordered the meat, dismissed the accusation and stated that it was sheep meat. He further backed his claim with legal documents and even showed the tail of the animal that was slaughtered. Razzaq accused Kerehalli of trying to make money by making false accusations.
The situation escalated as a large crowd gathered at the railway station, prompting the deployment of police to maintain order. Despite the commotion, Razzaq stood firm in his statement that the consignment was legally ordered sheep meat and not dog meat.
