Republic Day 2023: Parade at Kartavya Path begins, Celebrations across the country

New Delhi : The 74th Republic Day celebrations in the country began on Thursday with great fanfare. On the Kartavya Path path, President Draupadi Murmu, Egyptian President Abdul Fateh al-Sisi, Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and all dignitaries, politicians, and military officers are present. The Prime Minister greeted President Murmu upon his arrival.

Earlier, in congratulating all citizens on Republic Day, Prime Minister Modi expressed his desire for the country to work together to realise the dreams of freedom fighters. In the morning, he visited the National War Memorial and paid tribute to those who made the ultimate sacrifice.

Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla and Union Minister Nitin Gadkari hoisted the national flag at their residences. Union Home Minister Amit Shah has also saluted the freedom fighters, constitution makers and brave soldiers while wishing all the countrymen.

Bihar Governor Fagu Chauhan unfurled the national flag at Patna, Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde at his official residence in Mumbai and Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami at Dehradun. Dhami said – Prime Minister has put five resolutions in front of the country. We all will contribute in this.

Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel and Governor Acharya Devvrat attended the Republic Day celebrations in Botad, Gujarat. Mizoram Chief Minister Zoramthanga unfurled the tricolor at the Chief Minister’s Office in Aizawl.

BJP National Vice President Raman Singh unfurled the tricolor at the party headquarters in the national capital Delhi. Odisha Governor Ganeshi Lal hoisted the flag in Bhubaneswar. Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik was also present in the function. Vice Admiral MA Hampiholi attended the Republic Day parade organized by the Southern Naval Command in Kochi, Kerala. The tricolor was hoisted in the presence of Governor RN Ravi and Chief Minister MK Stalin in Chennai, the capital of Tamil Nadu. Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot hoisted the tricolor at the Chief Minister’s residence in Jaipur.

BSF DIG Sanjay Gaur unfurled the national flag at the Attari-Wagah border in Punjab. Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan attended the Republic Day celebrations organized in Jabalpur. He said that the country is proud of today’s India. We will build a self-reliant Madhya Pradesh to build a self-reliant India under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The tricolor was hoisted on the clock tower at Lal Chowk in Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir on the 74th Republic Day. Enthusiastic youths also raised slogans of long live the Republic Day. Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar unfurled the national flag at the Republic Day function held at Jagadhri in Yamunanagar. Kerala Governor Arif Mohammed Khan unfurled the tricolor at the Central Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram.
