Top diplomats from India, Bangladesh and Nepal join Durga Puja celebrations in Beijing

In China, Durga Puja is celebrated with traditional fervor and enthusiasm at the Indian Embassy in Beijing.

Chinese Ambassador to India Vikram Mishri told the gathering, which was attended by senior diplomats from Bangladesh and Nepal, that Durga Puja commemorates our shared heritage in the Indian subcontinent.

The central message of the festival is that victory over evil is timeless and everlasting, he said.

The ambassadors of Bangladesh and Nepal in China also shared their festive greetings through a recorded message. The happy Indian community led by Beijing Bangs gathered from different parts of China and immersed Durgadevi’s Dharma Prakasam amidst ‘dhak’ with traditional worship.

The event featured a stunning musical performance by Chinese artists, including Kathak dance, by Chinese artists similar to the Chinese Conservatory of Music a Yankin-Santour.
