A tragic fire broke out this morning at Naz Hotel in Diggi Bazaar, Ajmer, Rajasthan, resulting in four deaths and multiple injuries among the many pilgrims staying there. Eyewitnesses reported a loud explosion at around 8 AM, believed to have originated from an air conditioner in one of the hotel rooms.
Preliminary investigations indicate that a short circuit may have caused the fire, which quickly spread throughout the hotel. In the ensuing chaos, guests attempted to escape, with one woman heroically throwing her child out of a window to safety; fortunately, people below caught the child, who suffered minor burns but is stated to be out of danger.
The hotel’s narrow access road impeded the arrival of fire and police rescue teams, leading to considerable delays, with firefighters arriving nearly half an hour after locals attempted to rescue trapped individuals by breaking windows. The injured were rushed to Jawaharlal Nehru Hospital, where Dr. Arvind Khare confirmed four fatalities. Five others, including a child, are under treatment. Local police officials are managing the chaotic situation.
