Jharkhand Police raids the house of three people including BJP candidate Bramhanand Netam

Raipur: In the Bhanupratappur by-election, the Jharkhand police, which reached out to arrest BJP candidate Bramhanand Netam, called Kanker police station on Tuesday after giving a notice. The Jharkhand police once again raided the houses of three people including Brahmnand Netam on Tuesday morning. The team passed a notice outside the house asking three people including Brahmanand Netam to be present at Kanker police station at 10 am. Brahmanand Netam is absconding. BJP is trying its best that its candidate should not be arrested.

Jharkhand police have reached Bhanupratappur since Monday. The local police are also advising the Jharkhand police to act cautiously, advising that the situation may worsen.

The Jharkhand Police team raided the house of Brahmanand Netam and Naresh Soni at Charama in the Kanker district on Monday. The police had also reached Kanker in search of Dipankar Sinha and Keshav Sinha in Raipur. None found.

Congress state president Mohan Markam had disclosed in a press conference that along with BJP candidate Brahmanand Netam, five other accused were accused of gang-raping a minor and pushing her into prostitution. Citing the case of the year 2019, Markam said that Netam should be arrested.

Describing it as a political conspiracy, the BJP is saying that action is being taken deliberately in the alleged old case at this time when there is an election. The Congress revealed that the victim had written down the names of all the gang rape accused in a diary. In this case, the Jharkhand Police arrested Sheetal alias Sapna Mahato, and Surendra Sinha, belonging to Chhattisgarh, from Mahasamund in 2019. The name of Brahmanand Netam is also included in the challan presented by the police.

Child Protection Commission notice to Markam

The National Child Protection Commission has issued a notice against Congress state president Mohan Markam for revealing the name of the victim in the case. By sending the superintendent of police of Kanker district, the commission has also asked to take action against Markam. Naresh Gupta, head of BJP’s legal department, said that the National Child Protection Commission has sent a notice to the Superintendent of Police, Kanker. But why no action has been taken till now after the notice of the commission?

The by-election for the Bhanupratappur assembly seat in the Kanker district is to be held on December 5. The seat fell vacant after the death of Congress MLA Manoj Singh Mandavi last month. Congress spokesperson Sushil Anand Shukla Shukla has said that Markam has not revealed anyone’s name.
