Building Bridges: PM Modi’s Neighbourhood Visit to Bhutan Begins

Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi embarked on a two-day visit to Bhutan on Friday, with plans to return on Saturday. The trip is a part of India’s ‘Neighbourhood First Policy’, which focuses on strengthening relationships with neighboring countries. Originally scheduled for Thursday, the visit was postponed due to adverse weather conditions in Bhutan.

In a statement, Modi expressed his excitement for the trip and his goal of further strengthening the partnership between India and Bhutan. He is set to meet with the King of Bhutan, His Majesty the Fourth Druk Gyalpo, as well as Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay. The visit is expected to include various programs aimed at promoting collaboration and cooperation between the two nations. With this trip, Modi hopes to continue building a strong relationship with Bhutan and solidify India’s commitment to its neighbors through meaningful engagement and partnerships.
