Delhi: The AAP’s Delhi unit convenor Gopal Rai has called for a nationwide protest against the BJP after Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s arrest by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Thursday evening. Rai has condemned Kejriwal’s arrest as a “murder of democracy” and an “announcement of dictatorship”. He has appealed to the countrymen to gather at the AAP office on Friday morning and then protest outside BJP offices across the country.
Rai believes that Kejriwal’s arrest is not just an attack on one person, but an attack on the ideology of the party. He also alleges that the ruling BJP is targeting opposition leaders, and this arrest is a clear example of this.
At a midnight press conference, other Delhi ministers and AAP leaders also condemned the way in which Kejriwal was arrested, stating that this is no longer just a fight between two political parties, but a fight for clean politics in the country.
