Asaram Bapu, sentenced to life for the sexual exploitation of a student from his Gurukul, has received interim relief from the Rajasthan High Court, extending his interim bail until June 30 due to his declining health. This decision follows a lengthy debate and comes after the Gujarat High Court had already granted similar relief.
Asaram has been incarcerated since 2013 and has filed multiple bail petitions citing health issues. Recently, he was briefly out on bail for the same reason but returned to jail once that period expired. His deteriorating condition has been a key factor in these extensions.
