Delhi HC orders re-hearing of 52 pending cases before new bench instead the one chaired by Justice Verma’s led

The Delhi High Court has mandated the re-hearing of 52 pending cases before a different bench, excluding the one led by Justice Yashwant Verma, who is under investigation due to cash found at his residence. This decision is part of the court’s latest notification. The affected cases, which have set dates but no notices issued, will be reconsidered.

Following the cash seizure, Justice Verma has been transferred to the Allahabad High Court, with Chief Justice Sanjiv Khanna ordering that he undertake no judicial responsibilities.

A Supreme Court-appointed three-member committee, including Chief Justices from various High Courts, has initiated the investigation. The cash was discovered after a fire in Verma’s home on March 14, prompting the withdrawal of his judicial work by the Supreme Court Chief Justice.
