Heavy thunderstorms : Hyderabad records highest rainfall

Hyderabad: Several areas in Hyderabad recorded over 100 mm of rainfall on Monday evening. By 6 pm, the highest rainfall of 124 mm was recorded at Banjarahills andJubilee Hills.

Yousufguda under Khairatabad mandal reported 116 mm, Srinagar Colony received 105.8 mm, while CESS in Khairatabad recorded 99 mm. Areas around Basthi Dawakhana in Kukatpally saw 97.5 mm, and Rajiv Gruhakalpa in Kukatpally received 94.8 mm. Maitrivanam in Ameerpet reported 92.3 mm.

Traffic jams were reported on several flyovers including the Telugu Talli Flyover near the Secretariat, Khairatabad, Punjagutta, Begumpet, Paradise Circle, and other parts of the city.

Officials are working to clear water-logged areas caused by the heavy downpour.
