Phone Tapping Case : KCR questioned by SIT officials

Hyderabad: In connection with the ongoing phone tapping investigation, a Special Investigation Team (SIT) on Saturday questioned BRS president and former Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) at his residence in Nandini Nagar, Hyderabad.

According to sources, the questioning was conducted on the second floor of his residence and the entire process was being videographed as part of the investigation procedure.

The SIT team included SB Joint Commissioner of Police Vijay Kumar, Maheshwaram DCP Narayana Reddy, Additional DCP KS Rao, ACP Venkatagiri, Greyhounds SP Ravinder Reddy and ACP Sridhar, who participated in the examination.

KCR’s counsel Ramchander Rao reportedly requested the investigating officials to allow legal representative Santosh Rao to remain present during the questioning.

Meanwhile, BRS Working President K. T. Rama Rao (KTR) was also present at the residence at the time of the SIT visit.

Security was tightened in and around the residence as a precautionary measure. Police deployed multiple layers of security, including the presence of five Deputy Commissioners of Police to supervise arrangements.

Authorities also imposed access restrictions in the surrounding areas of Nandini Nagar, particularly on the route from the Basavatarakam Cancer Hospital side, to ensure smooth conduct of the investigation process and maintain law and order.
