Hyderabad to Host 3rd Yellow Ribbon Run on March 8

Hyderabad: The Endometriosis Foundation of India will organise the third edition of the Yellow Ribbon Run in Hyderabad on March 8 at T-Works, Gachibowli, as part of efforts to enhance awareness about Endometriosis.

Founded by Dr. Vimee Bindra, the organisation is dedicated to supporting patients and promoting greater understanding of the condition. The run will feature three categories — 10K, 5K and 3K — and is expected to see participation from more than 1,500 people.

Organisers stated that Endometriosis affects nearly one in ten women and impacts millions across India. Despite its prevalence, the condition remains under-recognised, under-researched and often misdiagnosed, significantly affecting women’s physical, mental and professional well-being.

Dr. Vimee Bindra said the objective of the Yellow Ribbon Run is to create large-scale public awareness and encourage policymakers to invest in research, improved healthcare access and collaborative partnerships. She noted that the positive response to the previous two editions in Hyderabad encouraged the foundation to make it an annual initiative.

Addressing the gathering, Nerella Sharada, women’s rights activist and executive committee member of the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee, said the Telangana government under the leadership of Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy is committed to strengthening women’s healthcare. She said women’s health is central to the overall development of families and communities.

Actor and television presenter Rashmi Gautam expressed support for the initiative, stating that awareness and stakeholder engagement are essential to addressing gaps in understanding and treatment of Endometriosis. She extended her support to the foundation’s objectives.

Dr. Archana Reddy, Secretary of the Foundation, said the organisation works towards creating awareness and building networks with state and central governments, as well as medical institutions, to ensure accessible and affordable medical solutions for patients.

The event logo, T-shirts and medals for the run were formally unveiled by the dignitaries at the programme.
