Demonetisation and GST ruined small traders: Rahul Gandhi

Chandigarh: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has said that decisions like demonetisation and GST have ruined the business of small traders in Punjab. Punjab is a state of those who help. Here the gurus have taught everyone to love.

Rahul Gandhi was addressing a public meeting in Ludhiana, the industrial capital of Punjab, on the second day of Bharat Jodo Yatra. Raising the issue of small industries in Punjab, Rahul Gandhi said that the centre’s focus is only on two-three households. No one is paying attention to the small-scale industry.

Big houses cannot provide employment to the country, but small-scale industries can. The central government is not doing anything for MSMEs. If small-scale industry gets help then we can compete with China. Comparing Manchester with Ludhiana, Rahul said that Manchester does not have a future, but Ludhiana has a bright future.

Rahul Gandhi said that the Center is spreading fear, hatred and non-violence in the country. People are being made to fight in the name of religion. Punjab Congress chief Amarinder Singh Raja Warding, Leader of Opposition Pratap Singh Bajwa, party in-charge Harish Chowdhary and many other leaders were present on the occasion.
