Journalist of Raniganj’s daily newspaper shot dead,

Araria: Vimal Kumar Yadav, a reporter for a daily newspaper (Dainik Jagran) in Araria’s Raniganj, was shot dead by miscreants this morning. The miscreants knocked on the door of his house early in the morning and called him out. As soon as Vimal opened the door of the house, the miscreants shot him dead. The incident is at the house located behind the Hero showroom in the Raniganj police station area, Belsara.

Two years before this, his sarpanch brother was murdered by miscreants in the same way. He was the main witness, and it is suspected that he was killed by the miscreants because he was the main witness. Despite this, he testified against his brother’s killer during the ongoing court trial.

Pooja Devi, the wife of a deceased man, recounted a morning incident where her husband was murdered by miscreants. She heard banging on the door and heard firing, leading her husband to run. The police arrived and took the body to Raniganj Referral Hospital, where doctors declared him dead. The body was later sent to Araria Sadar Hospital for a postmortem. Pooja Devi expressed apprehension that her brother-in-law’s killer had executed the incident of her husband’s death.

The President of NUJ-India, Mr Ras Bihari, the national coordinator, Ms Indrani Sarkar, and dozens of journalists condemned the incident and demanded the arrest of the killer soon. The Journalists Union talked about agitation regarding the insecurity of journalists in the case.
